WELCOMING MESSAGE

A message of welcome from our Chairperson as we come together to advance men’s health

Dear Distinguished Guests, Colleagues and Friends,
Welcome to the Men’s Health Seminar 2026

On behalf of PGMED UNIMAS and the Cohort 13 organizing committee, it is our distinct privilege to welcome each and every one of you to this seminar. We are incredibly grateful to have you on board as we unite to improve men’s health outcomes and bridge the stark health inequities that exist in our society today.

Globally and locally, statistics consistently show that men remain more vulnerable to mortality and morbidity, resulting in a significantly shorter life expectancy than women. The root causes are deeply layered, spanning historical precedents, resource prioritization, service accessibility, health awareness, personal behaviours, and societal stigmas. Each of these represents a complex theme that demands a comprehensive systems-level approach and clinical commitment. However, meaningful systemic change must start somewhere.

Your participation in this seminar is a powerful first step toward holistically improving the health of our community. We have intentionally planned and designed this seminar to be highly relevant to all segments of our healthcare workforce. Whether you are a medical officer, clinical specialist, public health practitioner, nurse, medical assistant, or allied health professional, this program is built for you.

Our goal is to equip you with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and deep insights required to understand the unique needs of male patients. When you encounter men in your everyday practice, this seminar will help you look beyond the immediate symptoms to see what truly needs to be addressed, allowing you to provide a more holistic, healing touch.

Whether your professional goals are to design impactful community programs, enhance clinical effectiveness on the ground, or provide greater comfort to those under your care, we trust this seminar will be highly rewarding.

Thank you for your dedication to this vital cause, and we wish you an enriching learning experience.

Warm regards,

Dr Simon Channing Nub
